Acting Director of Public Affairs (temporary from Feb 2020 — June 2020)
Communications Manager (April 2019 — April 2021)
Communications Officer (May 2017 — April 2019)

I am responsible for developing and delivering high quality, effective communications to raise awareness for, and build the profile of, Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK), their guidelines, courses, and standards, as well as creating and delivering campaigns and initiatives to further public awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation.

This includes creating strategic communications plans that encompass a wide variety of digital channels, events, printed materials and public relations needs (including writing and selling in press releases and case study stories), as well as developing assets and ensuring timely delivery. As the brand guardian, I hold the style guidelines for all internal and external work and am responsible for ensuing consistent high-quality brand and design work.

I also lead on communications across a multitude of charitable partners for RCUK’s flagship public-facing campaign, the award-winning #RestartAHeart day, which has seen over 500,000 young people learn vital CPR skills. I manage our editorial planning calendar and process, line manage one member of staff, and deputise for the Director of Engagement and Influencing role.

38 Degrees
Campaigner (September 2016 — March 2017)

I worked across a variety of communications, policy and marketing disciplines to deliver cutting edge tactics to further people-powered change. This role featured extensive and reactive copywriting, developing communications strategies, designing social media calls to action and basic html coding. I organised events, and I also gained high-profile stakeholder experience – including having regular interactions with MPs, MSPs and Lords – in order to drive policy change around a number of hard-hitting issues facing communities across the country.

Lush Limited
Digital Media Studio Producer (March 2016 — September 2016)
Global Coordination Lead (February 2013 — March 2016)
Windows Coordinator (March 2011 — February 2013)

I project-managed a dedicated group over-seeing global communication projects (specifically around ethical causes and charity involvement). This group was spread across different disciplines and global locations. I was responsible for setting deadlines and timelines for work, acting as a facilitator to enable my team to perform to their highest capabilities, and acting as a communications liaison between the stakeholders and the development team. During this time, I also created, coordinated and communicated marketing and brand plans throughout Lush’s international markets and support team departments (in a business with over 16,000 employees and over 950 stores in 45 countries), from windows to websites, and everything in between. In these roles I also gained extensive experience working with suppliers and agencies.

In these roles I demonstrated a creative mind and strong organisational and communication skills. Our communications were award-winning and included a Bronze Lovie award and the Chair of the Judges Award from The Drum Social Buzz Awards for the #GayIsOK LGBT+ rights campaign.

Sales Assistant/Supervisor at Covent Garden Store (Feb 2007 — June 2009)

I was responsible for running a busy cosmetics shop in central London with a staff size of 25 (which expanded to 50+ during the holidays). I served customers, demonstrated products, oversaw the sales floor and sales team, set up window and in-store displays, opened and closed both the store and registers, and completed end of day paperwork. I regularly organised parties and events in the store, such as corporate evenings, birthday parties, and recruitment evenings.
