Resuscitation Council UK Communications Manager: May 2017 – Present
(Acting Director of Public Affairs from 1 February – 31 May)
I am responsible for developing and managing high quality, effective communications to raise awareness for, and build the profile of, Resuscitation Council UK, their guidelines, courses, and standards, as well as creating and delivering campaigns and initiatives to further public awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation.
This includes the development and management of communications across a wide variety of digital channels, events, and public relations, as well as the development and implementation of strategic plans and leading on communications for the award-winning #RestartAHeart campaign.
From 1 February until 31 May, I served as Acting Director of Public Affairs as RCUK faced the incredible challenge of being a key provider of clinical and public facing health guidance during the crisis posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a tremendous opportunity to overcome challenges, work on top-level projects with the other Senior Management Team members, and grow as a leader and as a manager as well as gain valuable experience dealing directly with senior stakeholders. During this period I also oversaw the end result of the organisation’s rebrand and the development of the stunning new website in the new brand.

The role required a creative mind and strong organisational and communication skills. These communications were award-winning and included a Bronze Lovie award and the Chair of the Judges Award from The Drum Social Buzz Awards. The role allowed me to work closely with shareholders and build relationships across the business.
Lush Windows Coordinator: March 2011- February 2013
I was solely responsible for the creation and implementation of the window promotions for all of our UK and ROI stores (101 at the time of my employment). I created, designed, sized, ordered and directed the installation of the window displays, which occasionally also reached our global markets. This role enabled me to work in a very creative position and also gain experience negotiating with suppliers.

I regularly organised parties and events in the store, such as corporate evenings, birthday parties, and recruitment evenings.
