A few friends and I went off to the countryside for the weekend to dress up like a shooting themed episode of Downton Abbey, go on long walks, and drink in cozy pubs. It was a success. Here’s what we got up to, in watercolour and then watercolour and ink sketches.
Salisbury Cathedral:
The old city wall gates:
We rented horses and went for a trek up the mountain:
And made the short drive to Stonehenge:
And then parked ourselves in the lovely, cozy, and haunted Haunch of Venison:
Then the next day we took a long country walk:
And came across a lovely old pub on the river:
And then spent some more quality time in the Haunch of Venison, this time in the restaurant.
Here’s what we did and where we did it:
Rented a car from WhipCar
Booked horses from White Horse Trekking Centre
Stayed at the Lazy Cow, Wiltshire
Visted Stonehenge
Visited Salisbury Cathedral
Drank and ate at The Haunch of Venison
Ate a delicious meal at The Market Inn
